Shougang Basketball Center is located at No. 159 Fushi Road, Shijingshan District, Beijing. It was officially opened in December 2001. It is a comprehensive sports venue built in conjunction with Beijing's bid for the 2008 Olympic Games. Its shape means a "giant whale in the blue sea". The venue covers an area of 25,000 square meters.
